Proposed Budget Reduced $263,000

Several cost saving measures were presented at the Henniker School District’s Budget Workshop session on January 17 by Superintendent Dr. Lorraine Tacconi-Moore.  The measures brought forth for consideration would decrease the previous budget proposal by more than a quarter of a million dollars. The first idea presented would be the creation of a multi-age classroom. The second proposal would be for the school to establish a Special Education Program that would be run within the school, reducing current costs for out-of-district student tuition payments and transportation to those schools. An increase in class size at some grade levels was also presented.
