Henniker/San Ramon Sister Community Project brought Yasser Hernandez to Spanish classes at HCS this week.  The artist talked to the students (almost exclusively in Spanish) about the food, housing, and life in Nicaragua.  Henniker students were more than a bit surprised to find out what school is like in San Ramon— one building for pre-school through 6th grade and one teacher for all.

Yasser also  shared with students a bit about the organization that brought him to NH, Planting Hope. The organization’s mission is to enhance educational opportunities and foster cultural exchange in Nicaragua and the US.

These photos show Henniker 7th graders learning a few Nicaraguan dances and songs.
